The Diocese of Adelaide is committed to joining the National Redress Scheme to provide an additional avenue for redress for those who have experienced abuse in the church. The Diocese has made its application to join and it is expected that the process will be completed by the end of February/early March 2019. Applications to the Scheme will be processed after that time in accordance with the timeframes established by the Scheme.

Persons wanting to make an application to the Scheme may do so at any time, and do not need to wait until the end of February. The Scheme Operator will process any received applications once the Diocese is formally joined.

Further information about the National Redress Scheme, including information on how to access advisory and support services, can be found here.

Please note that the Diocese of Adelaide continues to accept applications under its own redress scheme, called Healing Steps. Further information about Healing Steps is found here.
